What subjects do you teach?
We specialise in Maths and English. With fully qualified teachers your child will strength core skills and develop confident in choosen subject area.
How do i know my child will improve?
We’re yet to meet a child that hasn't benefited from tuition. We provide updates and feedback about how they are performing. Our homework, coupled with the guidance of our tutors and expertise, improves your child's self-esteem and ultimately their academic performance.
will my child get homework?
Homework is an essential part of the Oak Tuition Centre programme. It gives the child the opportunity to consolidate and practise what they have learnt during their lesson. We are aware of each student’s school workload so set homework is generally limited to around half an hour each week. Parents are encouraged not to assist children with their set homework as this also helps us gauge strengths and weaknesses to enable us to adjust lesson plans.
What is the ratio of tutors to pupils?
Our class sizes are small, we usually have 4-5 students in one group. This would be set in a friendly, classroom like atmosphere. This will improve interaction with teacher and student.
How long is each lessons?
Each Lesson is 80 Minutes, consisting of 20 min sections with a mixture of direct teaching, writing and computer activities. After each session theres a interaction between parents and students to share infomation and quick feedback.

what ages do you teach?
We specialise in teaching for 4 to 16. We have teachers that teach fundamental skills in each key stage.
Do you tutor exam preparation for selective school entrance?
Yes, we teach both verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning on our 11 Plus syllabus to students who are working towards their 11 Plus examination, the more time we have to prepare the better the chance of success so get in contact with us today.
How does the initial assessment work?
Many parents are concerned about how their children are performing at school and whether their children are at the appropriate level for their age and class. We provide a no obligation assessment and discuss the results with you in detail to determine exactly how your child is performing.
how should i help my child during their tuition at oak tuition?
Interaction is key, talking to your child about their learning experience and sharing any concerns will dramatically help your child progress further. Additionaly allowing time for your childs homework will help tutors support essential needs.
ARE YOUR TUTORS ALL QUALIFIED TEACHERS AND DBS CHECKED?
All staff are subjected to DBS checks and many are qualified to administer first aid if needed. Teachers specialise and are fully qualified in choosen subjects.
Can you tutor my child with additional needs?
Pop in to discuss with tutor or feel free to call. We have tutors who have experience with special educational needs (SEN).
How does the Oak tuition learning relate to a childs age?
Students are progressed based on their current ability and not their age, supported by a tailored program.
do you tutor from home?
All of our tutoring is done in an optimal learning environment inside of our centre. Your child has access to all of our learning packages, technology learning resources and can progress without any distractions.
